Review: SharePlus 3.5.28

There is a new version for SharePlus so stay around for my review!

PDF and Annotations
This is a feature a lot of people have been waiting for! You are able to create annotations in PDF documents within SharePlus. You don't need to open another application, create your annotations and save it back to SharePlus! Let's see how this works.


I open a PDF file in SharePlus and click at the new pencil icon next to Open In:

You can see four new icons appearing for annotations. I will show you how these work! The first icon let's you add lines, boxes and arrows:

The next icon, with the T, let's you underline, mark and cross text:

The third icon let's you create a text box or a sticky note:

I really like the last icon, this let's you add stamps to the PDF such as draft or final:

Pretty cool right? I am sure a lot of customers will love this feature! You are also able to delete an annotation at any moment:

SharePlus also added an Autosave feature for annotations. This feature will save the annotations, in the background, so you will never lose your annotations in the cash of a crash or low battery. Nice!

You can save your annotated PDF file to multiple locations:

The Save As Draft option is new in SharePlus 3.5.28. This creates a local draft in the application. You can keep working on the PDF file until you want to share it with others. SharePlus has a nice display for draft items:

I really like small graphic details like this. By selection Save To Other Location you can save the annotated PDF in another site or even your My Site. Pretty cool stuff!


PDF Thumbnail
There is also a new feature for browsing through the PDF:

Do you see the small thumbnail? It provides you a preview of the page. The current version has arrows, this looks a lot nicer. Again, small little details but customers appreciate this.

Grid view
There is a new view available called the Grid view:

You are able to click at a column to sort it ascending or descending. There is another cool part of the view when used with a contact list:

You can add a new contact to your iPad contacts by clicking at a phone number or e-mail.

Table view based
There is also a new table view. This looks a nice, check the difference with the standard table view:

A really nice improvement.

More improvements
There are, of course, more improvements in this version:

• Meeting Workspaces issues were fixed and added improvements in Meeting Workspace detection. Multiple meetings per day selection and other minor improvements were added.
• Calendar Visualization issues were fixed. Recurring and All day events are properly displayed.
• Favorites management and browsing was fixed.
• SharePlus' stability in general has been improved.
