SharePoint 2010 - LinkedIn web part

I showed you how to integrate Twitter and YouTube with SharePoint. This was pretty easy to set up and made it possible to integrate two of the biggest social networks into SharePoint! In this article I want to show you how you can work with LinkedIn.

Here you can find an overview of all the available plugins of LinkedIn. There are a lot of interesting options:

• Apply with LinkedIn:
  • Make it easy for candidates to apply for your jobs using their LinkedIn profiles.
• Share on LinkedIn:
  • Enable users to share your website with LinkedIn’s professional audience, and drive traffic back to your site.
• Recommend with LinkedIn:
  • Enable users to recommend your products and services to LinkedIn's professional audience, and drive traffic back to your site.
• Follow Company Plugin:
  • Make it easy for prospective customers, job-seekers, and business partners to engage with your company.

Most of the plugins are only interesting for public facing sites. I want to take a look at the company insider plugin. Click at Get it and the following screen will appear:



Just enter the company name, in my example Wortell of course, and you can also decide which views you want to use. Click at Get Code and when you are ready copy and paste the code into a Notepad file.The following actions need to be executed:

• Upload the notepad (TXT) file to a document library
• Copy the link address
• Add a content editor web part
• Refer to the link address and save the web part

The result will look as following:
