SharePoint Online 2010 - Improved ribbon

Hi, today I was preparing a SharePoint Online 2010 workshop for a new customer. I was surprised to see that the ribbon for inserting webparts is different compared to SharePoint On Premise! Let's take a closer look.

SharePoint on premise versus SharePoint Online
In SharePoint On Premise the Web Parts sections looks like this:



But! When you go to SharePoint Online you will see the following section:



This is actually pretty cool. Just click on the arrow next to Document Library:



You can immediately insert an existing Document Library or create a new one. This works the same for Calendar, Announcement and Contacts! You want to add another list or library? Just click More Web Parts and the following screen will appear:



Especially in team and project sites, you always use a Document Library or a Calendar! So you can just use the ribbon to easily create these libraries or lists. This makes life a lot easier J
