SharePoint Online 2010 and people search

I am working with SharePoint Online 2010 since a couple of weeks. I noticed that newly created users (in the Office 365 administration portal) don't appear in the people results. I expected this to work immediately. So I did some research and created a dummy account. The John Doe account did not appear in the people results until some of the profile properties were changed:

The only thing I really don't like is the display name. I hope this is a beta issue. If anyone knows if this is true or if I am forgetting something please let me know J
