Office 365 migration - resource throttling

I encountered another interesting issue after the migration from SharePoint Online 2007 to SharePoint Online 2010. Our customer had a CQWP that showed an overview of the latest changed documents of the portal. These were all the documents of the portal.

After the migration the web part stopped working. The reason for this was that resource throttling is enabled in SharePoint Online 2010. This makes sense to maintain the stability and speed of the portal.

The alternative for the customer is to configure a search core results web part or use a CQWP on every sub site and only show the documents of that site and its subsites.

So be aware of resource throttling in SharePoint Online 2010 :-)
