Microsoft provides you with an initial 10 GB and you get an extra 500 MB for every user. This does not count for Kiosk workers or external users (invited with a Live ID). These users don’t get you any extra storage. You can, of course, buy additional storage space.
The maximum storage for a site collection is 100 GB. That is a great improvement compared to BPOS where the limit was 50 GB. For multiple of our customers this really is great news and prevents them for acquiring extra site collection to spread data.
Every user (apart from the Kiosk and external users. The don´t get a My Site) also gets 500 MB for his or her My Site. Unfortunately this is also the limit. I really hope this can be raised in the future.
